Transform your surgical care with Telehealth. Experience convenient evaluations, expert monitoring, and on-demand urgent support through our secure telehealth platform.
Telehealth also known as telemedicine refers to the use of secure video conferencing and electronic medical health records that link medical providers with patients to extend care remotely. Telehealth technology also provides the ability to write prescriptions and safely store consented images that demonstrate the progress of care including weight gain/loss, wound healing, ambulation, gait, alertness level, mental status, and the overall progression of our patients.
The purpose of telehealth is to improve access to care for everyday working people. The benefits include: shorter waiting and travel time, added privacy, and higher cost savings. Telehealth visits are typically less expensive than standard clinic visits. In addition, telehealth visits can be scheduled sooner because providers can see more patients per day. With telehealth, there is no need to wait weeks for a clinic appointment.
Yes. Telehealth has been widely accepted by medical providers including surgical centers for many years. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, governments worldwide have increased the accessibility and affordability of telehealth through added legislation. Telehealth evaluations are performed by licensed medical providers, and are thereby widely accepted in the medical community.
Yes. Telehealth clinics follow guidelines written by the American Medical Association (AMA) that describe the appropriateness and safe use of medical evaluations done by telehealth. Telehealth evaluations for low risk surgical procedures (i.e. elective procedures) can safely be done by a medical provider trained in these guidelines. Standard medical assessments such as body habitus, girth, height, weight, B.M.I., respiratory status, and general health condition, can all be done safely via telehealth. Together with standard lab analysis prior to surgery, and various score assessments, telehealth medical providers can assess a patient’s overall readiness for surgery.
Yes. TMG uses a fully-encrypted HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record (EMR) for all patient record keeping. TMG’s EMR is called Practice Fusion; it is widely utilized amongst healthcare organizations of all sizes throughout the United States and is known for its reliability.
TMG does not accept health insurance at this time. Instead you pay a flat fee for our services payable via debit or credit card on our website payment portal.
TMG offers preoperative evaluations, postoperative evaluations, and urgent care services. All of these services include prescriptions, orders for imaging or labs, and subspecialty referrals if necessary.
TMG’s medical providers are trained to evaluate patients for elective procedures under general anesthesia.
Under the telehealth standard of care, TMG sends patients to local pharmacies such as Walgreens, CVS, Target, and common grocery store pharmacies. Patients must take a valid picture of themselves also showing their height, weight, heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation measurements within the picture. These pictures are validated by TMG’s intake coordinators and medical providers. Standard pre-surgical laboratory orders such as complete blood count (CBC), complete metabolic profile (CMP), prothrombin time (PT), international normalized ratio (INR) are written for patients. These orders can be taken to any laboratory such as labcorp or quest diagnostics and then sent to TMG for evaluation.
Our standard medical evaluation takes 3 to 5 days to complete. We need to receive all of your information including consents, patient intake form, valid blood pressure image, valid weight image, and lab results. Then we schedule your telehealth visit with one of our medical providers and complete your evaluation.
